Introducing EnvyMe Hair Studio
Let me introduce you guys to my new baby…
Entrepreneurship is hard. It consists of long and sometimes lonely nights. It has it’s early days, it’s highs and lows and sometimes it’s an emotional rollercoaster that comes and takes you on a ride that may seem like you can’t ever get off of. There are times when it hurts and demands you to sit in silence. Yes, you do cry sometimes and it’s ok.
On the flip side it can be a silent orgasm; AMAZING, ADDICTIVE, and making you want more and more. At the end of the day (just like my children) I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
Speaking of children, let me introduce you guys to my new baby— EnvyMe Hair Studio.

Hair Care 101: How to Wrap Your Hair
One of the questions that I’m constantly asked by clients is “how do I wrap my hair?” And I get it.
One of the questions that I’m constantly asked by clients is “how do I wrap my hair?” And I get it. You spend all this time and money to look fly, but you’re not entirely sure how to keep your ‘do’ looking fresh. Wrapping your hair prevents damage while you sleep (no tangles or tugging here!) and prolongs your style. Keep reading to find out my secrets for a wrap that will work wonders.
Step 1
Okay, first things first, you need to make sure that your scarf (satin is best, boo!) and pillow are clean following your appointment. Nothing’s worst than going home with a clean head to a dirty scarf.
Step 2
Comb your hair through first before wrapping it. I suggest using a styler tool comb because of its versatility.
Bonus tip: Feel free to add a little oil before you wrap or unwrap your hair. Moisture is key and your tresses will thank you!
Step 3
Starting at the crown of your hair, brush your hair forward. Be sure to brush out your part, too. (Don’t worry, it’ll fall back into place when you unwrap your hair.)
Step 4
Brush your hair in a circle around your head – think of it as a giant curler! (You can ignore that hump on the top – that’s where all of your curls and volume are.) For best results, use a paddle or bristle brush.
Step 5
Place your scarf on top of your head, tie it, and then turn it in the same direction that you wrapped your hair. (This will help you avoid that irritating knot print.)
That’s it, now you’re ready for bed, and you’ll wake up feeling #flawless!

How to Choose the Right Stylist
If you’re “hair stylist hoppin’” or transitioning between them, here are some key things to consider.
Hey, you. I’m so glad that you found your way to the EnvyMe blog. I’m Lalitha, also known as “La La.” I’m a hairstylist with more than two decades in the industry, specializing in multicultural hair care, extensions, and natural hair. This blog is the place to get the tips and tricks you need to care for your hair. If you have questions, drop them in the comments below, and I’ll be sure to answer them there or in an upcoming post.
I’ve worked with hundreds, if not thousands, of clients over the years. With some, we’ve hit it off right away, and with others, I’ve had to politely say that it wasn’t the best fit. If you’re “hair stylist hoppin’” or transitioning between them, the thought may come up as to how to choose a stylist that’s right for you. Below are some key things to consider.
Specialty
The most important thing is that the stylist specializes in the service that you desire. At EnvyMe, all new clients receive an initial consultation during their first appointment, so that I can learn more about them, their likes and dislikes, and hair goals. Hair care is my thing, so if a client is not interested in that, I know that it won’t be a good fit. I gladly refer clients elsewhere if what I have to offer doesn’t meet their needs.
Personality
Personality is another key consideration when choosing a stylist. When you find a stylist that you like, you typically stick with them for years, so it makes sense that your personalities gel. I have a personal relationship with each of my clients as a result of them coming to get styled by me. I don’t just care about their hair, but also what’s going on in their life as well.
Salon Environment
Do you prefer a more mellow or upbeat environment? Clients that come to get serviced at the EnvyMe Hair Studio Naperville location enjoy an intimate, pamper experience in our salon suite while clients that frequent the Chicago location know that it’s more lively and fast-paced. Your salon experience is supposed to be relaxing and comfortable, so make sure that the environment matches your taste.

Hair Care 101: Sexy Time and Your ‘Do’
Before you sweat out your edges, read this post, and save your hair.
Imagine this scenario: It’s Friday night, you’re leaving the salon, and your hair is slayed to the heavens. But then bae decides he wants to get it in. What’s a girl to do? Before you sweat out your edges, read this post, and save your hair.
While there’s nothing wrong with wearing your scarf or bonnet, chances are you and your boo will be more in the mood if you don’t (let’s be real: it’s hard to feel like Beyoncé when you’re looking like Aunt Jemima).
To protect your ‘do,’ try taking control.
Cowgirl (or reverse cowgirl, if that’s more your jam) is a sexy position that will turn him on and simultaneously protect your style. It’s a win-win! If that’s not possible, or you’re not that flexible (no shade), then it it’s time to invest in a silk pillowcase, which won’t dry out your hair like cotton pillows. Say “hello” to your new best friend.
Don’t fall asleep!
For the love of all things holy, as soon as you’re done with your love session, run – do not walk – to the bathroom to wrap your hair. Apply a little oil to your hair, and brush it through really well with a demi brush. This way, the air can help your hair to dry faster.
Most importantly, you want to get rid of those tangles. If you fall asleep without brushing your hair, you can forget all about that cute hairstyle the next day.
And if all of this sounds like too much work, then you may want to consider a protective style, such as a sew-in. While you can curl your extensions the next day, you’ll still want to brush those tangles out before falling asleep.
Use these tips before sexy time, and your hair will thank you!
